This is the temporary portfolio of Marianne Wellman. I'm an LA-based designer who's passionate about creative expression, education, and helping small-business owners bring their brands to life. Let's chat.

Hudson Institute of Coaching started as a mom and pop shop in the 1980s; today they're a renowned leader in the coaching space. As a company, Hudson has two arms of its business: one caters to free-wheeling and open-minded individuals, while the other serves large-scale conventional corporations. The visual brand needed to retain enough flair and warmth to resonate with its community of individuals, while maintaining the authority and rigor to attract high-stakes buyers. The full brand guide consists of about 25 pages, including shape language and layout recommendations, to support the marketing team in producing compelling collateral.
Wiser by Hudson Institute of Coaching was a start up project with the mission of bringing coaching to low & mid level managers within organizations, providing a combination of group coaching (led by a top-teir Hudson coach), 1:1 coaching (facilitated by Hudson's proprietary AI coach), and self-guided practical learning. The platform facilitated behavior change around core competencies (ex. Feedback, Delegation, Inspiration, Inner Critic, etc) by guiding participants through tightly structured weekly exercises. For participants who were struggling daily to manage their workload and battle imposter syndrome, the site's design was driven by a need for unintimidating ease, even injecting bits of gamification where appropriate.
How can we better remember special moments? One of my closest friends and I have been traveling together for over a decade. We're the type of people who come home with 36 photos of food, but maybe only one photo of ourselves. In this way, it sometimes felt like our memories were slipping through our fingers. In response to this gnawing concern, I've begun creating poster booklets which include photos and day-by-day accounts of what we experienced, to take something ephemeral and pin it down into the tangible. The goal is to grow this practice to create a lifelong collection of precious memories.
